We have had the privilege of capturing some of the most beautiful Indian weddings with some of the most amazing couples.

At one such wedding a while back, we had just captured a beautiful Indian wedding over 3 days and had worked tirelessly to create a Same Day Edit (SDE). After showing the Same Day Edit at the reception, we had the sweetest couple, Zil & Neil, approach us and share with us how much they loved the SDE we had just shown.

As we talked more, they said they were interested in having us come to California to capture their wedding too. They were getting married during the summer, and we loved the idea of getting out of the Arizona heat and enjoying the beautiful weather in southern California.

Zil & Neil’s wedding was every bit a reflection of these two and their incredible love and adoration for each other.

By far, my favorite moment from their wedding weekend was at their Garba/Sangeet. During the performances, Neil surprised Zil by performing a song he had written for her!

Seriously, I may or may not have shed a few tears as I listened to him sing his heart out to his bride in front of their family and friends. You could tell he labored over every word he had written, and it was truly one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever witnessed at a wedding.

We are so grateful to Zil & Neil for asking us to capture their wedding and hope you enjoy this short highlight of their unbelievable weekend.

Jennifer & Dean share a love story that has literally gone viral. And I don’t mean that in a metaphorical sense. Dean knew very early into dating Jennifer that he wanted to marry her. But in talking with her, he knew she needed more time, and he also knew how much she loved countdowns. She literally had a countdown on her phone for most major events in her life.
So he put those two things together and spent the next 365 days secretly proposing to her by recording a few-second video asking if she would marry him each day. Then he edited the footage together and used the video to propose to her while they were on vacation (of course she said yes).

As you’ll see in the link above, the proposal video currently has over 28 million views. I think it’s because Dean’s love for Jennifer is pure and honest and willing to wait and spend over a year preparing to ask her one simple question.
My favorite moment capturing their wedding was probably their first look – and also when they shared a surprise video with their guests at the reception. It was similar to the proposal video as they had spent the last year shooting and editing it, and it truly was a beautiful bookend to such a remarkable journey.
On a side note, huge shoutout to Karma Event Lighting for their beautiful work at this wedding. Lighting makes a HUGE difference for us, and Jeremy & Alicia are simply the best. They know how to transform any space into something truly spectacular, and they genuinely care about the couples they work with.

Jamie & Jeremy’s wedding is one I’ll always remember. I instantly fell in love with both of their dogs, who by the way they flew in all the way from Canada (where they are from). These two are obviously animal-lovers, but they are also lovers of life, and completely in love with each other.
As we got to know them, they shared of the struggles and hardships they have been through together, and how it has only made them grow closer and their relationship stronger. To me, THAT is what love is all about. I also loved that so many family and friends flew in for the wedding – it was amazing to see the incredible community of love that surrounded these two.
We couldn’t be more grateful to Matt Nathanson for telling this sweet couple about us. In our opinion, Matt is the best in the business. He is tireless in his efforts to get to know each couple, and the words he shared a Jamie & Jeremy’s wedding ceremony gave all of us a beautiful picture of their love story. Matt truly makes each couple’s ceremony a memorable experience for the couple and their guests.
On a side note, right after Jamie and Jeremy’s wedding, the found out they had won a house! Seriously, a brand new fully-furnished home in Canada. And it made me beyond happy to see two people so deserving not only be married, but be given an amazing start to their married life.

Carol and Josh’s love story is far from typical. Their families met while travelling abroad – as Josh is from Australia and Carol is from the United States. Years later they reconnected as adults at Carol’s sister’s wedding, and they didn’t let distance or the fact that they lived thousands of miles apart keep them from falling in love. And after some time Carol decided to move to Australia to be with Josh – a testament to the true depth of their love.
Because Carol’s family lives in Scottsdale, they decided to have their wedding here, and many friends and family traveled in from all over the world to support their union.

From first time meeting Anne and Brian, we knew their wedding day was going to be the bomb dot com. They have the best sense of humor (which Todd and I found it quite similar to our own sense of humor) so we pretty much constantly kept each other laughing.

And these two seriously know how to have a good time – I mean c’mon, they met in Vegas. And they are both amazing dancers. I suppose it may be partly because Anne is also a Zumba instructor, but I have watched the dancing footage from their reception over and over hoping it will teach me something about dancing – haha.

I’m so happy two people this awesome fell in love.

I’m also grateful we were able to work with The Hoskins Photography (Aaron & Marisa) at this sweet couple’s wedding. These two are brilliant artists with a focus on storytelling – which made our day together amazing.

When Todd and I arrived at the Camelback Inn for Mackenzie and Kevin’s wedding, we noticed several guests standing and staring up into some trees on property. We also heard the loud chirping of birds, and walked over with our gear to see what had everyone so intrigued.
As we looked up, we saw hundreds of the most beautiful lovebirds throughout the trees’ branches. We immediately began filming and Todd captured two lovebirds that seemed completely in love with one another. I couldn’t help but think about Mackenzie and Kevin, and how these birds were the perfect way to intro the story of their love. I have never before seen birds like that in Arizona, and I wonder if it was fate that brought them there on Mackenzie & Kevin’s wedding day (although I’m sure it is simply a part of their natural migration).
Either way it was amazing.
I loved every minute of Mackenzie and Kevin’s wedding – these two have some of the most supportive family and friends, it was beautiful to witness their love being celebrated.

I love the gift Scott gave Corey on their wedding day. Corey had collected all of the cards Scott had ever given to her, and somehow Scott found her secret stash. He stole them (without her knowing) prior to the wedding, and secretly created a scrapbook with the cards and included pictures from their trips together.
It’s amazing to me how much thought Scott must have put into doing this for Corey’s gift – how much time and energy he spent creating something that would memorialize their relationship. I love that Corey had no idea he had taken the cards, and was completely surprised at such a beautiful and thoughtful gift. A way to look back on their years together on the day they committed their lives to each other.
And don’t get me started on their vows during the ceremony – I laughed and cried and felt privileged we were capturing such important words.
I especially love what Corey’s dad said to them during the reception. He said, “I knew they were meant to be immediately. I saw the way Corey looked at him. You know how when you are happy you smile, but when your heart is happy your eyes smile? Corey your eyes are shining tonight.”

Allison & Brandon’s relationship involved a lot of waiting. As Allison’s dad said in his speech to them at the reception, they met when Allison was 14 and Brandon was 16 – and he had to wait for her to turn 15 to date her. Then when Brandon left for college, he had to wait two years before Allison graduated high school to join him at UofA. Then when Brandon graduated college, Allison still had 2 years left – so they continued to wait for one another.
It amazes me to see two people who fell in love so young, who have matured together and gone through so much together. They share a love well beyond their years – and on their wedding, you could sense that all of the waiting was well worth it.
