Meleyna & Tom’s wedding day was a day full of so much love – not just between the couple, but for their children and family and friends too. They had taken such care to make sure each of every detail in their wedding represented who they are as a couple, and as a family. And the locations couldn’t have been better – they had their ceremony at the Japanese Friendship Garden and the reception at a crazy cute bed and breakfast in downtown Phoenix. These certainly weren’t traditional spots for a wedding ceremony and reception – but they were perfect.
And seriously, Meleyna and Tom have the cutest kids. Their daughter Leila kept me smiling and laughing all day. From her cute giggle to the way she plugged her ears whenever Jessica, the photographer, took a picture of her – she may be the cutest kid I’ve ever met.
In editing their trailer, it was as if all the stars aligned and I finally realized that the book that the officiant talks about by Dr. Suess titled “Oh the Places You’ll Go” are the exact words on the card Meleyna gives Tom earlier in the day. As the officiant says, Meleyna gave Tom that book when they had just started dating, and on their wedding day, she was reminding him of those words and her excitement for their future together.
What a beautiful reminder that a wedding day is simply the start of something even more exciting – getting to do life together, forever.
